Tabarka is a city of Tunisia located in north-western Tunisia about 12 miles from the border with Algeria, at 36°56′33″N 8°50′38″E. It has been famous for its coral fishing, the coral being brought in ancient times to Carthage. It was the last city remaining under Spanish possession in 1947 when it was surrendered to the French commander Louis Bonnier de La Chapelle.
