Douz is the perfect place to experience the South-central Sahara. It is Tunisia's gateway to the majestic Sahara Desert. Douz is located at the southernmost edge of the Saharan Atlas, which separates the Sahara from the Tell, more than 250 km south of Tunis and is considered as "the door of the desert".
